Damn Security Guards
Text by Vince

In the states, they're one of the skater's worst enemy. But, whala... they have just been Americanized. Most of our security guards working here in Panay believe it or not receive their whistle and diploma from the States.

But hey, if they were so smart, they'd be something else, like a president of some school or something. Ok, I'll start pissing them off.

I've noticed that one of the special talents of securityguards is intuition. They can sense from a mile away that a person has no I.D. But they have really minute brainspace for memory. They see you everyday for 4 years but yet they still fail to recognize your f#cking face...

Next thing that they have is innovation. Guards in our school used to catch monitor lizards and big snakes with guess what... Yup, you thought they only had blanks right??? The even have the guts to display the GAME that they caught in the guardhouse in the gate. And another experience I've had is the use of the all mighty "tubo" or steel tube. White uniform, no I.D. BOOOM!!! Like the up-down barricade device in parking lots, they drop it down like theres no tomorrow... Motto in life? NO ID NO ENTRY...

The next thing that's amazing about these special people is their sense of reason. "To, inde kmo mag-iskitbords dra kay Sabado subong, gapahuway ang mga Baptis" C'mon guys, thats the best reason a 1 year old child can think... Old on the outside and young in the inside. Another is "To, ano ka?''
me: (thinks) "tawo nong" but answers: "OSY nong, la ko ID"
smart guard: "ha?! indi ka kasulod, suplado ka daan!"
me: HA!? na ano ni xa man???
See, I told you, they're smarter than a... ummm... got me there... cant continue the sentence...

Another thing that they have and they're really proud off cause they're showing it off all the time is that they have telekinetic abilities.... Trust me on this one. They have this "garret" thingys but they dont use em. They dont need to. They can sense a bomb from a mile away. Amazing... I wonder if they can levetate themselves or see in X-ray vision too...

But logic tells me that most of them are gay, why? Because some of them pretend that the're not equipped with this type of power and resorts to the "kap kap" or the manual method. And I tell myself all the time, why the f#ck do they need to f#cking touch your balls everytime? Even if they see you go outside for a while and go inside they're still gonna check you again and touch your balls...

Last thing that I have a stupid experience on security is that we were skating in a mall with 2 letters on it and we asked permission on one guard if we can skate and he was cool with it. Then we started skatin and boom, terminator comes out and says "Bawal d mag iskitbord to, may curpew kami daan di" and we were like: "abi namun ok lang kay naglisensya man kami sa iya(pointing to the first guard)". Then he said"Ti indi man na xa gabantay sa sine nga building, basta lakat na kamo ah" and we were like "ok ah" then we formed in a circle and asked each other where to go and we heard "kuk chuk" he actually cracked his shotgun or shitgun right in front of us. I was like whats up with that dude man, as if we were trying to kill him... Damn.

I therefore conclude that guards must have their training in Barcelona.(period)

International Skate News

Koston says byebye to Lakai, he is rumured to end up in Nike, Sheep, DVS, Grayscale, Berrics Footwear and some even say New Balance WTF. Teamed with RRM Design Group, Wormhoudt, Inc. could not be any more enthusiastic about the Venice Beach Skate Park Project! The 17,000 square foot premier Skate Park, located on the beach, in the sand, at the heartland and birthplace of skateboarding is now under construction. Osiris Shoes has come out with a new signature shoe by Caswell Berry. The UK’s Blueprint skateboards has restructured and is moving forward with longtime pro Paul Shier and original brand manager Dan Magee at the helm. They’ve upgraded the product line with an international theme and are now offering distribution worldwide. Mystery Ripper Jimmy Carlin is the newest member of the Ambiguous team, with Corey Duffel and Jt Aultz on the roster we should have a pretty good video to look forward to in the future. Congratulations from us here at Skate Daily to Eric and Ashlee Koston who extended their family with the arrival of a new baby girl last May 4. The Australian Man Child, Andrew Brophy, has been on quite a streak recently. He recently turned pro for Cliche, got the last part in their video Cle, got picked up by the Fourstar squad, and won Australia’s Slam Magazine’s Skater of the Year Award. Now he even has his own Dayton DVS/Fourstar collaboration shoe, damn. Wenning is no longer on Plan B, but Silas Baxter-Neal is fully representing CCS. Speaking of C's, Chris Senn no longer rides for Element while Levi Brown turns pro. While David Loy left his flowed Emericas for a new set of Cons. Looks like he'll be riding with Dwyane Wade from now on. Tampa Am 07 dark horse and winner Felipe Gustavo has been welcomed to the team over at Silver trucks. Erik Homena gets his finger fixed. BWAHAHA

Steph turns into a green moster when he's feeling it

When I first saw this guy, the one thing that I've noticed is his hair. He looks like he just popped of the 70's and back when he entered the skate compitition in Amigo, the helmet would barely fit his head. I can still remember the others calling him "patay", I did not know why, not until I started to ride with them. His surname apparently is the same with a famous funeral parlor here. But one thing that I saw is that he has steez. When the others were riding fast, he cruised around in a slow pace. Maybe because he had extra small wheels, but he still nailed big tricks. He started the trend of ollieing obstacles at a snails pace, one time he even did a 3.5 deck ollie with a board so small no one will ever wanna ride it. He pioneered the backside feeble here in Aklan. He was also the first to do a backside 5050 in the rail and some of the first heelflips over gaps and obstales. And so, my lengthy intro comes to a close. Guys and gals, meet Stephen Donguines, 24 y.o. of Bombskwad Skatecrew in Kalibo...
